Ohio native, Navy Veteran WW II, Santa Barbara resident since 1946. Upon discharge from the Navy, entered Los Angeles Art Center. Studied with Rex Brandt, George Post, Milford Zorn, Anthony Askew, James Armstrong, Ann Louise Snider and close friend and painting companion John Dominique. Nicholas was a Santa Barbara resident, he owned and operated the Nicholas Salon of Beauty with his wife Helen M. Gekis and later his son Nicky Gekis for over 50 years.
