FIESTA, SANTA BARBARA COURT HOUSE

When my father was discharged from the Navy in 1946, he and his father moved from Ohio to Santa Barbara. The day they arrived happened to be the day of the Fiesta Parade. He often said it felt as though Santa Barbara was throwing a party just for him. Fiesta always held a special place in his heart, and as a result, it became a cherished tradition for our family. Many of the paintings in my father’s collection capture the vibrant scenes of Fiesta in Santa Barbara, reflecting his deep connection to this special celebration. Look close at the lower left side of the painting and you will see the image of my dad wearing his favorite sombrero.
